1. NAME OR DESIGNATION OF PROGRAM:  RABFIN,PARTS.

3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

RABFIN calculates technical specification dose parameters for the noble gas portion of gaseous effluents from nuclear power plants. Finite noble gas doses from short-term (purge) releases are calculated; the output includes the  finite plume air, total body, and skin doses. Corresponding dose quantities computed assuming semi-infinite exposure geometry are also presented for comparison purposes. PARTS calculates technical specification dose parameters for the iodine and particulate portions of gaseous effluents.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION

RABFIN employs the atmospheric dispersion models of the XOQDOQ program and the dose integral routine of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide 1.109.

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM

Maxima of 50 nuclides (PARTS), 20 nuclides (RABFIN), 14 wind speed classes (RAFBIN), and 7 stability classes (RABFIN). No provision is included to evaluate simultaneously multiple releases, e.g., a continuous and purge release.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

NESC executed the RABFIN and PARTS sample problems in 13 and 1 CP seconds, respectively, on a CDC CYBER175.

NEA-DB ran the test cases included in this package on a PC/80486 with 66 MHz. Elapsed times were 7 seconds for RABFIN; 3 second for PARTS.

RABFIN requires 22,000 (octal) words of memory for execution, PARTS requires 31,000 (octal) words.

The program was installed by NEA-DB on a DELL 560/L PC/80486 with 66 MHz and 16 MB of RAM

13. OPERATING SYSTEM UNDER WHICH PROGRAM IS EXECUTED:  SCOPE 2.1 (CDC7600); NOS 1.4 (CDC CYBER175).

The program was executed under MS-DOS 6.20. The source  code was compiled with the Lahey Extended Memory compiler F77L/32 version 5.20.
