3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION

cumYield.MT calculates the cumulative yields of radioactive decay isotopes considering decay chain. The result displays the cumulative yields of each atomic number, mass number and isotopes. Moreover, radiation spectra can be yielded with Root data format. This program is designed to obtain cumulative fission yields thus the rates of radioactive decay isotope are required as input file. The data library related to decay chain and gamma transition is originated from Evaluated Nuclear Structure Data File (ENSDF). Making the photon evaporation data or radioactive data appropriate form, the latest evaluated nuclear structure data can be used instead of Geant4 data files.

In this program, the isotopes of which half-lives are longer than micro seconds are considered isomer state although the criterion of ENSDF is nano seconds.

4. METHODS

The Monte-Carlo method is used.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME

The running time of the calculation depends on the number of input isotopes and the number of events. A calculation of 1,000,000 events with 1000 isotopes takes about 100 seconds on an Intel i7 dual core process (1.90 GHz).

7. UNUSUAL FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM

The latest update ENSDF can be used for the calculation of cumulative fission yields and radiation spectra.

8. RELATED OR AUXILIARY PROGRAMS

Geant4.10.2.0 or higher version and related data files such as G4RadioactiveDecay and G4PhotonEvaporation. Also, Cern Root is required to analyze to the radiation spectrum data.
