The NEA SMR Digital Dashboard gives policymakers and the public direct access to NEA’s SMR database and offers stakeholders a real-time window into the global status of SMR development. This digital platform also enables continuous data collection and more frequent updates to SMR assessments to provide near real-time evidence-based analysis.

The NEA SMR Digital Dashboard update process 

To ensure the NEA SMR Digital Dashboard remains current and reflective of ongoing developments, the NEA opens periodic updates throughout the year, inviting SMR developers to submit via a form. These updates, initiated by developers, allow such organisations to incorporate progress into the NEA SMR Digital Dashboard. To support this process, the NEA has created a form and accompanying guidelines for updating SMR design assessments.

On 28 September 2026, the NEA launched edition 4.0 of the digital dashboard, the latest version. The update was driven by industry engagement, where more than 120 SMR developers participated. The NEA SMR Digital Dashboard now tracks a total of 156 SMR and micro modular reactor (MMR) projects worldwide, of which 95 are included in the dashboard. The other 61 include approximately 33 that are under development, but requested not to be included in the digital dashboard at this time; they may be included in the future. The remainder include SMR technologies that are not under active development, may be without human or financial resources, or have been cancelled or paused indefinitely.
