WPRS Benchmarks Workshop 2023
About

The annual Benchmark Workshops of the Working Party on Scientific Issues and Uncertainty Analysis of Reactor Systems will be hosted by the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA) in Bologna, Italy. From 22-26 May 2023 participants of different WPRS Benchmark Activities will meet, exchange results and discuss future activities.

Participants unable to join in person can attend the event online via Zoom.

The WPRS Benchmark Workshops address benchmarks for neutronics,  thermal-hydraulics, fuel performance, and multi-physics aspects of reactor core simulations in LWR, HTGR, SFR, LFR, and other LMFR systems. As a novelty,  the workshops also include discussions on the performance of AI and Machine Learning  in the domainn of single and multi-physics reactor simulations. The event will also host the CTF User Group Meeting, CTF training, and the first pilot event of the OECD NEA International School on Simulation of Nuclear Reactor Systems (SINUS).

Organising committee
  • Local Chair: Giacomo GRASSO, Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA), Italy
  • Technical Programme Chair: Kostadin IVANOV, North Carolina State University (NCSU), USA
  • ENEA Secretariat support: Patrizia GAZZI, ENEA
  • NEA Secretariat: Oliver BUSS
