This 4.5 day training course will be taught in English by the MCNP development team, from LANL.

Holding a personal MCNP6.2 or later licence is mandatory for the course. The distributing center is Radiation Safety Information Computational Center (RSICC). More information will be provided upon receipt of the registration form.

Programme

This introductory class forms the basis of the LANL-delivered MCNP class curriculum.

The provided examples will be assembled, executed, and examined in real time.

Time will be available to discuss individual questions and problems with MCNP experts.

If time permits, details on more advanced features in the code can be discussed at the attendees' request.

The class will be based on version 6.2 or later of the MCNP code.

  • Input construction and basic geometry
  • Plotting of geometry
  • Source definitions
  • Tallies and plotting
  • Neutron data and photon/electron physics
  • Statistical analysis
  • Criticality
  • Variance reduction
Payment information

The registration fee is 2000 EUR. It includes lunch and coffee breaks, but does not cover accommodation. It MUST be paid no later than by 12 January 2024. Note: students will be asked to provide proof of their MCNP licence before proceeding with payment.

Registration fees are refundable up to 18:00 CET Paris time on 12 January 2024. After this date, they will not be refunded.

Payment can be made either by credit card or by bank transfer. Detailed information will be provided on receipt of the registration form.

Registrations will be open until places run out. We draw your attention to the fact this course can only host 22 participants, so please do not delay in registering and paying the course fee.
