The data are used to estimate the gamma-ray and electron dose rates for whole-body and for various body organs (24) for air and water immersion and from ground-surface sources. The data are given for approximately 500 radioactive nuclides.
DLC-79 contains recent modifications of the computer code DOSFACTER which was developed for the purpose of estimating dose-rate conversion factors for external exposure to photons and electrons emitted by radionuclides dispersed in the environment.
A dose-rate factor can thus be regarded as a dose-equivalent rate per unit radionuclide concentration. For a given radionuclide, the dose-rate factors are constants which are determined by the radiation type (photons or electrons) and the energies and intensities of the emitted radiations of that type, the mode of exposure, and the organ of the exposed individual or population for which the dose-equivalent rate is desired.
The data are used to estimate the gamma-ray and electron dose rates for whole-body and for various body organs (24) for air and water immersion and from ground-surface sources. The data are given for approximately 500 radioactive nuclides.
The data were computed by the CCC-400/DOSEFACTER II code from the DLC-80/DRALIST library of radioactive decay data for approximately 500 nuclides. They are used to estimate the gamma-ray and electron dose rates for whole-body and for 24 body organs for air and water immersion and from ground-surface sources.
