3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION
PlotS is a PC computer program for making linear, logarithmic and semilogarithmic graphs using PC Windows environment. A wide variety of options is available. Graphs can be put to printer or to JPG files. Program PlotS can be run interactivly or in batch manner.
The program PlotS is a 2D Cartesian coordinates plotting tool for MS Windows System that programs graphs and manipulates 2D data from file. This program has been written to display simple data passed through a table form from a data file.
For both axes one or more columns can be given. For the X-axe one column is used except in the case of histogram plotting where two columns can be used for from to values. In the case of using more than one columns for the Y-axe, the picture is composed of more curves. Column values on file values are separated by a delimiter, which can be one of the following: comma, semicolon or space.
The delimiter used is defined in the relevant dialogue box (SLE, simple line editor for inputting short text).
The program PlotS enables general interpretation of the X values. They can be alphanumeric strings as well as normal numerical values. Depending on the user's wishes the picture can be saved to a JPG file (Graph.JPG) or to Clipboard. There could be some comment lines at the beginning of the file.
Last two of them can be used as graph title and curve labels. The program also includes a special option for plotting negative values in a logarithmic scale useful to plot the results of the SUSD3D sensitivity/uncertainty code. In this case negative values are presented in a separate graph and are taken as absolute values. Another special option of the program is the possibility of linear interpolation of data. In this case two points in the coordinate system are defined by right-click, which then represent a line.
This version differs from PLOT-S (IAEA1426/01) in the following features:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Log/Log plotting option for plotting positive as well as negative quantities is implemented in the plotting utility. Useful for example to plot the sensitivity profile calculated by the SUSD3D sensitivity-uncertainty code.
