FISPACT-II is an enhanced multi-physics, inventory and source-term code system providing a wide variety of advanced, predictive, spectral and temporal simulation methods employing the most up-to-date and complete nuclear data forms for both neutron and charged-particle interactions.
This update (version NEA-1890/06) contains a new collection of executables. It addresses an issue with running FISPACT-II on a Windows machine.
Numerical LSODES, Livermore Solver for Ordinary Differential Equations with general sparse Jacobian matrices. Backward Differentiation Formula (BDF) methods (Gear’s method) in stiff cases to advance the inventory, Adams methods (predictor-corrector) in non-stiff case, Yale sparse matrix efficiently exploits the sparsity.
Neutron and charged particle simulation. The code system extends the physics up to GeV energy with all channels and incident/emitted particles, now including a bespoke INCL++/ABLA-based residual product library, HEIR-0.1. Code features include self-shielding factors from probability tables, broad temperature dependence, thin/thick target yields, dpa, kerma, pka spectra, robust pathway analysis with pathways-based uncertainty propagation, Monte-Carlo sensitivity and uncertainty quantification and propagation using full reaction covariance data (including neutron and non-neutron irradiations), full energy-dependent fission yield treatment, kerma-based power flux normalisation and new, JSON output formats. The code now has an API, allowing it to effectively communicate with other software.
